Still really speechless except to say that I could not possibly be happier.

After a month of messing with these oats I think I’ve finally figured this out! Lots of thanks for Peter’s mom for her help :)
Ingredients for a delicious bowl of apple-cinnamon oats:
3 small apples, grated
1 c steel-cut oats
2 c water
1 T cinnamon
1 or 2 T maple syrup
1. Boil the water.
2. Throw all of the ingredients in the water and give everything a good stir. Keep the heat on low from now on. It will look kind of unappetizing for a while so just leave it alone for a few minutes.
3. All of a sudden A LOT of the moisture will have been absorbed. At this point, don’t walk away! Or else you will have a solid burnt mass on your hands. From here on out just keep stirring until the consistency is to your taste.
4. Grab a lid and cover the oats for a few minutes to let the oats finish absorbing.
5. Serve and enjoy! This also tastes great with some berries and nuts thrown in.

A rough night calls for a comforting breakfast:
1. Coffee-flavored tapioca made by mom (!) delivered by dad (!!) (A string of lovely events.)
2. “Cream bread” from Momo near Ellicott City (yay again to dear ol’ dad for this one for delaying my need to grocery shop for another 3-4 days.)
There is a very urgent need for me to cozy up to a borrowed cello so not much crafting will be going on. However there will be A LOT of eating on my part, so keep your eyes peeled for at least one more H-Mart deliciousness post and for hopefully very regular updates on .jpg!

Clem progress: on the repeats for the second half! Yowza, this is coming along faster than I’d ever imagined.
New site since I don’t like posting about online scrabble games on this blog and trying to justify it: . j p g. Just a run-of-the mill photoblog since I don’t like organizing photos in Flickr very much.
My wonderful and loving brother got me Folk Socks and Folk Mittens for my birthday (whooo!); however, the packages has not arrived yet. Hopefully further flattery will prompt him to pay for shipping next time… just kidding.

Not very much crafting lately since I have doubled my work hours in order to make up the month of Mozarty goodness that is the opera studio’s production of Cosi fan tutte. Now usually I can knit at work, but the theatre productions are also in full swing–the Filthy Rich run ends this weekend but Ash Girl picks up where its predecessor leaves off–this makes every weeknight and weekend I work a full on performance shift until further notice.
So this has been happening instead:
Let me just note that this is a game played with a stranger and is therefore completely unplanned and therefore hilarious. Apparently the game board didn’t like this arrangement either because it started eating letters (note that the last play was “kale” in the lower part of the board but there is no A… also I only have six tiles) so this beauty/monstrosity of a scrabble game had to end.
Hopefully crafting or at least food experimentation will resume soon, but until then life is kind of just scrabulous.
Also I’m really corny. Hah. But don’t kick me off of your feed reader just yet! Stay tuned.

Doctor’s appointments and related issues generally bring my day down, but today began and ended really fantastically well:
So the day began with breakfast with Emily! To keep things food-related I will just say that I never thought I would eat salmon at breakfast but oh lox cream cheese and bagels are amazing.
And then we skip to the end, when the beauty and benefits of working in a box office becomes apparent.
I really truly loved both The Cusp of Magic and Ghost Opera; the first I found more satisfying (?) and easier to digest while Ghost Opera was a more awe-inspiring experience than an involved listening piece. Top it off with coming home to still-warm steel cut oats (in its near-perfect form, finally! More about this in a later post) and I’m golden.
